Clashes erupted during a student protest march towards the state assembly in Ranchi, resulting in multiple injuries and detentions. Police reported that at least 14 police personnel and around 18 student protesters sustained injuries during scuffles involving tear gas and a baton charge. Authorities confirmed that 40 individuals were detained following the violence.
The state government claimed outside elements infiltrated the demonstration as protesters marched into the assembly premises. Student agitators demanding JSSC CGL recruitment reforms remain firm on their stand, refusing political party involvement and maintaining that protests will continue until recruitment decisions are addressed.
