The Lok Sabha witnessed continued uproar as the Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC) Amendment Bill, 2026 was taken up for consideration and subsequently passed. The government said the amendment will expand NCDC's scope and allow it to provide direct financial assistance to institutions involved in cooperative-sector development, including areas such as processing, marketing, storage, exports and imports.
