Nearly 25,000 Indian students connected with representatives of Australia’s eight Group of Eight (Go8) universities during a multi-city outreach programme, as universities stepped up direct engagement with students exploring undergraduate education in Australia.The outreach, organised by College Board in collaboration with the Go8 universities and supported by the Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade), was held across Hyderabad, Bengaluru and New Delhi.Students, parents and school counsellors interacted with university representatives through city events and school visits. The programme also included discussions focused on undergraduate programmes, admission requirements, scholarships, academic pathways, campus life and career opportunities.Also Read: The hidden financial curriculum of studying abroadThe programme comes as more Indian students seek direct information on overseas undergraduate education, with families looking for greater clarity on admissions, scholarships and career pathways before selecting universities.Students get guidance on Australia admissionsA key part of the programme was the “Roadmap to Australia” session, which took students through the undergraduate application process.
The sessions covered university selection, entry requirements, scholarships and application preparation.Representatives from all eight Go8 universities participated in the outreach. They were from the University of Melbourne, Monash University, the University of Sydney, UNSW Sydney, the University of Queensland, Australian University, the University of Western Australia and Adelaide University.The programme also gave students an opportunity to learn about university-specific academic pathways and admission opportunities directly from representatives.Also Read: DigiLocker partners with AAERI to fast-track document verification for Indian students heading to AustraliaCollege Board also used the outreach to explain how qualifications such as the SAT and Advanced Placement (AP) are considered in undergraduate admissions.
Students were introduced to how these qualifications can support applications to participating Australian universities.Meenakshi Kachroo Chatta, Senior Director and Regional Head, South and Central Asia, College Board, said: “Indian students today are making more informed and research-driven decisions about their higher education journeys.
