“The word mafia entered the public domain from east Uttar Pradesh. Mosquitoes and mafia were the spots of bother. Mafia would suck the blood and mosquitoes would spread diseases. All the infamous mafias from the region had international connections. They were a threat to national security," said CM Yogi Adityanath. “Those before us never spoke against the mafia. They helped them run parallel governance. They accepted them as a parallel power centre. They used to bow down to them. Nobody could speak against them. Today, I am glad that the double engine government, the Bharatiya Janata Party-led Democratic Alliance (NDA) government made the region free of mafia and mosquitoes," said Adityanath. The CM said that eastern Uttar Pradesh has endured a long period of neglect. Disease, floods, lawlessness, and hooliganism, whether during the Mughal era or the British era, or even after independence, continued to plague the region.

“Who prevented work on education, health, unemployment, and infrastructure after 1947?" Highlighting the changes in education sector, CM Adityanath said that UP has the youngest population. “The youth of UP have always been talented…Skill development centers have been established, teaching modern technology. Modern education, including AI and space technology, are being provided. Under Project Alankar, government inter colleges in Uttar Pradesh have been renovated. Old buildings have been replaced with grand new buildings, modern classrooms, and labs. The government is focusing on strengthening the infrastructure of secondary education," he said. The Chief Minister’s Abhyudaya Yojana provided opportunities to prepare for competitive exams. Virtual and physical coaching has been arranged for UPSC, UPPSC, NEET, and IIT-JEE. UPSC-qualified officers posted in districts are providing guidance to youth.
