High drama unfolded outside the Jharkhand Assembly in Ranchi as police lathi-charged students protesting against the JSSC CGL examinations. Student protest leader Devendra Nath Mahato, who had been on a hunger strike for nine days and lost over 10 kilograms, was rushed to the hospital after his health deteriorated.
The incident occurred during the 'Chalo Sansad' agitation after dark, when police used force against students who were in the process of evacuating the premises. Multiple protesters sustained injuries, with several requiring medical aid and hospitalization. Despite police action, students declared that their agitation demanding the withdrawal of the exam results would continue.
