Student protests over recruitment exam irregularities escalated into clashes with police in Ranchi, Jharkhand. Protesters breached multiple barricades outside the Vidhan Sabha, prompting police to deploy lathi charge, water cannons, and tear gas to control the crowd. Agitating students demanded the cancellation of thirteen competitive examinations, including the Combined Graduate Level Exam conducted by the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission, alongside investigations by central agencies.
Although the government agreed to cancel three public service examinations and state authorities arrested a former Jharkhand Public Service Commission chairperson, the standoff continues as protesters remain firm on their demands.
