The deadline for farmers in Kodagu district to enrol under the Restructured Weather-Based Crop Insurance scheme for the 2026-27 kharif season has been extended to August 17. The scheme covers the district’s major perennial crops, pepper and arecanut, across all taluks.
The original deadline for registration and payment of the crop insurance premium was July 31. According to an order issued by the State government on Friday,
August 7, the deadline has now been extended to August 17. The Deputy Director of Horticulture, Kodagu, has urged farmers to make use of the extended
deadline and to enrol under the scheme by paying the prescribed premium at nearby banks, Grama One centres at the gram panchayat level, or Common Service Centres.
