In a television discussion, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) leader Dheeraj Dubey defended the state police action against protesting students outside the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly. Dubey claimed that genuine student aspirants had established a peaceful code of conduct and were demonstrating at Jaipal Singh Munda Stadium.
However, he alleged that the assembly gherao was hijacked by the Bharatiya Janata Party, which brought in external agitators from neighbouring states like West Bengal, Bihar, UP, and Chhattisgarh. He maintained that police were obligated under SOPs to enforce barricades and protect the assembly and elected representatives.
