Andhra Pradesh Governor S. Abdul Nazeer has summoned both Houses of the State Legislature for the Monsoon session on August 17, 2026. The Legislative Assembly will commence its seventh session at 9 a.m., while the Legislative Council will begin its 50th session at 10 a.m. The Governor issued the summons under Clause (1) of Article 174 of the Constitution of India.
According to TDP legislators, the State government has decided to conduct the Monsoon Session for four working days—from Monday to Thursday. The session is expected to conclude on August 20, as Varalakshmi Vratam will be performed on August 21. The legislators said the newly constructed quarters for MLAs and MLCs in Amaravati would be handed over by the Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) to the General Administration Department on August 13.
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is expected to attend the programme. Following the handover, MLAs and MLCs will visit the newly constructed quarters during the Assembly session. The Monsoon Session is likely to
witness discussions on several key issues, including the progress of Amaravati capital city works, the Polavaram project, the El Niño phenomenon and its possible impact, farmers’ issues and other matters concerning the State.
