A special report covers the developments surrounding the student protest march to the Assembly over the JSSC and CGL issues. Most student protesters retreated back to the Jaipal Singh Munda Stadium area after symbolically holding their protest march, while a few splinter groups, including the Mahto faction and the Reform Manch, remained adamant on sitting near the Assembly gate. The police invoked Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) to restrict gatherings around the Assembly premises.
Although administrative forces maintained restraint, used barricades and water cannons, and repeatedly appealed for voluntary evacuation, police used a mild lathi charge to clear the remaining demonstrators as darkness fell. Officials cited safety concerns and the potential involvement of anti-social elements in the dark as key reasons for clearing the area. While government dialogue remains challenging due to multiple student factions, protesters maintain that their agitation will continue until the JSSC and CGL issues are resolved.
