Job aspirants in Ranchi escalated their protest over alleged irregularities in the JPSC and JSSC recruitment examinations by marching towards the Jharkhand Assembly. Protesters breached multiple police barricades and entered the assembly premises, leading security forces to use tear gas, water cannons, and lathi charge to control the crowd. The protesting students are demanding a Central Bureau of Investigation probe into the examination process and the cancellation of disputed exams, rejecting the state government's offer of a local agency investigation.
Fasting student leaders also joined the rally to press their demands. Meanwhile, opposition political leaders staged a demonstration outside the Jharkhand Chief Minister's official residence seeking his resignation, resulting in several detentions by the police. The state administration maintains that it has addressed most student concerns and is planning systemic reforms, but the deadlock between the government and protesting aspirants continues without a resolution.
