In a statement, the Ministry of External Affairs said diplomatic premises are inviolable under the Vienna Convention and must be protected by the host country.
“We condemn the defacement of the premises of our Embassy in Ljubljana, Slovenia by anti-India elements,” the Ministry of External Affairs said. Read Full Story The ministry said the matter had been taken up strongly with Slovenian authorities in both New Delhi and Ljubljana, with India pressing for the perpetrators to be identified and held accountable.
It also urged law enforcement agencies in other countries to take note of what it described as “hateful propaganda and disinformation” being spread by such groups. Sources indicated that pro-Khalistani elements may have been involved in the incident.
