Hundreds of thousands of student protesters in Jharkhand marched toward the Vidhan Sabha premises demanding the cancellation of the State Public Service Examination and a CBI investigation into alleged paper leaks. Protesters breached multiple layers of barricades, prompting the police and security forces to deploy water cannons, tear gas, and baton charges to disperse the advancing crowd. Despite the police action, student leader Devendra Nath Mahato joined the march on a stretcher following a nine-day hunger strike, holding portraits of B.R. Ambedkar and Shibu Soren while accusing the state government of pushing the state toward anarchy.
Protesters expressed anger over alleged paper leaks and exam discrepancies, stating that government force would not stifle their agitation. Students sang traditional regional songs and breached successive barricades, maintaining that their demonstration was peaceful. The administration maintained that force was used to preserve law and order as the crowd neared the Assembly premises.
