(Video screengrabs) France’s air accident investigation agency BEA will participate in the probe into Air India flight AI2379, according to reports.
The Bureau of Enquiry and Analysis for Civil Aviation Safety (BEA) will join the investigation into the Phuket-Delhi flight that suffered a “momentary loss in altitude" on August 4, injuring 17 people. The Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) will lead the investigation under ICAO Annex 13. BEA’s participation could also bring Airbus technical experts into the probe. AI2379, operated by an Airbus A320neo, took off from Phuket at 6.56 am. Nearly 2.5 hours into the flight, at 9.32 am IST, the aircraft experienced a cascade of failures involving its hydraulic and flight-control systems, as per reports.
