An intense student agitation unfolded outside the Jharkhand Vidhan Sabha premises in Ranchi, with job aspirants scaling barricades and blocking the chief minister's assembly route. Protesters demanded a CBI probe into alleged irregularities in the 14th Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) examination and the complete cancellation of the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission Combined Graduate Level (JSSC CGL) exam.
Despite talks with a four-member ministerial panel, negotiations reached a deadlock as the state government cited legal constraints regarding court directions on the JSSC CGL exam. Security forces, including police and CRPF personnel, resorted to lathicharge, water cannons, and tear gas shells to disperse the crowd after plastic bottles were thrown towards security personnel. Protesting students warned that the agitation would escalate into a public movement across the state if their demands were not addressed.
