The Jharkhand State CID has arrested former JPSC chairperson and e Chief Secretary L Kangaate following questioning over the empanelment of a blacklisted firm, TDPL, for the 14th Civil Services examination. His arrest comes amid escalating protests by students in Ranchi, who bypassed police barricades by navigating through farmland routes to march towards the Vidhan Sabha.
Demonstrators faced lathi charge, tear gas, and water cannons from security forces while demanding accountability over examination irregularities. Meanwhile, the opposition Bharatiya Janata Party criticized the Hemant Soren government, accusing it of using force to silence peaceful student voices. On the ground, protesters maintained their march towards the assembly despite police action, bypassing roadblocks and security checks.
