Jharkhand Police resorted to water cannons, tear gas, and a baton charge to stop student protesters who gathered in large numbers and broke through barricades while attempting to march towards the Assembly premises. Protesters carried the national flag, copies of the Constitution, pictures of BR Ambedkar, as well as banners and posters to raise demands regarding employment and examination irregularities.
Despite volunteers and student leadership striving to maintain a peaceful protest, police used force after barricades were breached near the Assembly VIP security zone. Visuals showed some agitators throwing water bottles and footwear towards security personnel as tensions escalated at the confrontation point. Network reporters noted that while police initially exercised restraint, student numbers continued to swell, leaving security forces struggling to control the situation near the Assembly gates.
