The stray dog was finally caught by the administration at around 1:30 am. According to hospital authorities, the victims were allegedly attacked by a white stray dog that suddenly turned aggressive near Sandeep Hotel and began targeting people passing through the area. Around 130 dog-bite patients reached KDMC’s Rukmini Bai Hospital for treatment, where they were administered anti-rabies injections. Hospital doctor Dr Sandeep Pagare said all the patients told authorities that they had been bitten by a white dog.
Following the incident, the KDMC stray dog department launched an operation to locate and catch the animal. Personnel from the Khadakpada and MHB police stations, along with local corporators and their workers, joined the search. After a search that continued for several hours, the administration caught the dog at around 1:30 am. The alleged victims were treated at the civic-run hospital and administered anti-rabies vaccines.
