West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's convoy was allegedly attacked with stones, bricks, and slippers in Halisahar, North 24 Parganas, while she was en route to meet the family of deceased Trinamool worker Birju Keot. Mamata Banerjee claimed the attack could have been fatal had her vehicle's windows been open, alleging that the police failed to protect her and instead provided protection to BJP leaders.
Countering her allegations, Shubhendu Adhikari stated that security officials provided proper support and no BJP flags or faces were present. West Bengal BJP chief Shamik Bhattacharya condemned the attack, denying any party involvement and stating the clash was between the public and Mamata Banerjee.
