According to police, Advaith Upadhyay had parked his rented Bullet motorcycle at the foothills before beginning the trek. He had reportedly rented the bike from Whitefield five days ago. Concern grew after his mobile phone was found to have been switched off at a location different from the hill. Police teams from Nelamangala and Dabaspete have launched a search operation to trace him. Drone cameras are being deployed to scan various parts of the hill, including Shanthala Drop, a treacherous stretch marked by rocks, boulders and dense vegetation.
Shivagange Hill stands at around 4,800 feet above sea level. CCTV footage reportedly captured Advaith climbing the hill, while his rented Bullet was later found in the parking area. A missing person complaint was initially registered at Kadugodi Police Station before being transferred to Dabaspete Police. The search operation was briefly suspended due to rain but has since resumed, with teams from Nelamangala Town and Dabaspete police involved in the effort.
