In a major security operation ahead of Independence Day, the Special Branch of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in Rajasthan has arrested two men from Tonk district over their alleged links with the banned terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM). The two accused, identified as Basit and Burhan, were detained in separate operations carried out over two days. Family members said a team of plainclothes personnel arrived at their residence and detained him while his father, who runs a local dhaba in the area, was away. After Basit's detention, the CID conducted a search at his residence. According to his family, officials seized several items, including ATM cards, bank passbooks and parts of an electric scooter, as part of the search operation. However, authorities have not yet disclosed the relevance of the seized materials to the investigation.
