As soon as such people were spotted, they were removed from the area and sent back to their respective police station jurisdictions,” SP (City) Rajiv Kumar said. He said the restrictions were being enforced in accordance with orders of the High Court and the Supreme Court, which prohibit unlawful activity or the introduction of any new tradition at the site. Kumar added that the matter remained under the supervision of the courts and that security arrangements had been strengthened accordingly.
Among those stopped was Meera Thakur, who had travelled from Agra and allegedly attempted to proceed towards the site for 'kar seva'. Police intervened, informed her about the restrictions and sent her back. The SP said all organisations concerned had been informed about the court directions and had assured the administration that they would comply with them. “Anyone attempting to come here due to lack of information is being informed about the situation and respectfully sent back,” Kumar said.
He added that law and order remained under control, dialogue with all sides was continuing and no one had been taken into custody. Ends
