Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) has cancelled the auditorium booking at the School of Social Science 1 for a discussion event on jailed former student Umar Khalid's book, 'Fractured Communities', scheduled for August 10. The JNU administration stated that the organizers, including the Jawaharlal Nehru University Students' Union (JNUSU), failed to disclose full details in the venue request.
JNU cited transparency issues regarding university spaces, noting the event was allegedly camouflaged as a discussion on Tribal Day and Adivasi communities without revealing its connection to Umar Khalid, who remains in jail over the Delhi riots case.
