The pact establishes a NATO-like collective defence clause — an armed attack against any one of the three states will be regarded as an attack against them all. Amid the U.S.–Iran war and the Gaza crisis, confidence in the traditional Western security order has severely eroded. This pact allows Riyadh to significantly diversify its security umbrella away from Washington. “For the past 2 years and 8 months, I have been in constant communication with our partners and other countries. This agreement has been in preparation for 2 years," said Fidan. The agreement combines the strengths of the three countries — Saudi Arabia’s mass financial power, vast energy capital, and massive technological spending capabilities; Turkey’s advanced defence manufacturing infrastructure and NATO’s second-largest military force; and Pakistan’s nuclear weapons capability, robust missile technology, and a massive standing army with decades of experience training Gulf forces.
“Egypt is our natural partner on all issues. I believe that, in the next phase, Egypt will also join us as part of the alliance. There are a few technical matters involved.
