Gujarat Police detain 501 Bangladeshi nationals under ‘Operation Delta Hunt’

• The operation, which began late on Tuesday (June 2, 2026) night, was carried out across Gujarat following extensive planning and intelligence gathering.
• Sanghavi said 501 people had so far been verified and detained for allegedly staying in the country illegally.
• The authorities were simultaneously scrutinising the credentials and backgrounds of over 6,200 other individuals as part of the ongoing exercise.
• “The message from Gujarat Police is clear — the only response to illegal infiltration is strict action,” the Home Minister said.
