Chidambaram accused the Bharatiya Janata Party government of intentionally linking women's quota with the census and delimitation process to fulfill a hidden political agenda. Reaffirming the stance taken by Rahul Gandhi, Chidambaram stated that the women's reservation bill has already been passed in Parliament and can be implemented before 2029 if the government has the political will.
