The incident occurred at Gangyal on the outskirts of Jammu as the convoy was returning after dropping the deputy chief minister at his residence. The deceased was identified as Bharat, a Bihar resident, who was crossing the road when the vehicle hit him, officials said. Bharat suffered critical injuries in the accident and died while being taken to hospital by the vehicle’s driver and accompanying security personnel, they added. An FIR has been registered at the concerned police station, while further details are awaited, officials said.
The vehicle was reportedly part of Choudhary’s convoy and was returning to Jammu after dropping the deputy chief minister at his nearby destination.
