Thousands of newly appointed teachers took out an ‘Atma Gaurava Rally’ in Kurnool on Saturday, holding placards and raising slogans in support of their Mega DSC-2025 appointments and rejecting allegations of irregularities in the recruitment process made by the YSR Congress Party. Teachers from the erstwhile Kurnool, Kadapa and Anantapur districts participated in the rally, organised by teacher associations to protest against what they described as false propaganda and baseless allegations.
The rally began at Konda Reddy Buruju and proceeded towards the Zilla Parishad office. The teachers said they had appeared for the DSC examination, competed for the posts and secured their appointments through the prescribed selection process. They objected to their appointments being questioned or being dragged into a political dispute, saying such allegations could adversely affect their careers. Questioning the basis of the allegations, the newly appointed teachers said they themselves had participated in the examination and selection process and had been appointed on merit.
They said their appointments were not the result of any political decision but followed the prescribed examination and selection process. The participants also questioned why the recruitment process was being challenged after its completion. Raising slogans such as “DSC means Chandrababu;
Chandrababu means DSC”, they thanked the government and HRD Minister Nara Lokesh for completing the recruitment process. The teachers recalled that the government had issued the DSC notification within six months of assuming office, as promised, and subsequently completed the recruitment process.
