In a major relief to vehicle owners, the Karnataka government on Thursday announced a 50% concession on pending traffic e-challan fines and certain transport department penalty cases.
The waiver will be available from June 21 to July 10, allowing motorists to settle long-pending violations by paying only half the prescribed fine amount.
The decision was taken following a proposal from the Karnataka State Legal Services Authority ahead of the Lok Adalat scheduled for July 11. According to the Government Order issued by the Transport Department on Thursday, the concession applies to all pending traffic e-challan cases registered by the police department up to May 2026. Vehicle owners can avail themselves of the scheme during the 20-day window and have their cases closed by paying 50% of the outstanding penalty amount....
