RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat on Saturday said India can become a true 'Vishwaguru' only if marginalised communities are brought into the mainstream. He said society must stand together to ensure that every family and individual has education and the basic necessities of life. Speaking after inaugurating sports grounds at a residential school for the Pardhi community in Khamgaon in Maharashtra's Buldhana district, Bhagwat said communities now described as 'bhatke-vimukt', or nomadic and de-notified tribes, were once dispensers of knowledge. Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Ambadas Danve was also present at the event.

He said these communities were once repositories of knowledge and had gone out to share it selflessly, but became marginalised over time. He said that during the British era, because the Pardhi community took part in the freedom struggle, the entire community was branded as a criminal tribe, which caused it to fall far behind in development.
'If we want to make India a Vishwaguru, these marginalised elements of society must be brought into the mainstream,' he said. To achieve this, society must stand together with 'everyone having equal strength', he added. Bhagwat said every family and every individual should have education and basic necessities, and society should work towards this goal without merely depending on the government. He said Indian society was once fully organised, but was enslaved by foreign invaders, which led to fragmentation and an increase in the number of marginalised groups.
Even then, he said, these communities never accepted subjugation and continued to struggle for freedom. He added that the Sangh has been working for years for the development of the Pardhi community. Bhagwat's remarks centred on the need to bring nomadic and de-notified tribes into the mainstream as part of the broader goal of building a more organised and inclusive society. Ends
