Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and TDP national president N. Chandrababu Naidu said that he would not tolerate anti-party activities and negligence in taking care of the cadres, saying that the TDP would not have come thus far without the sweat and toil of the grassroots workers. “The single-point agenda of everyone in the party should be to secure more votes than what was polled in the previous elections,” Mr. Naidu exhorted while speaking at a training programme for the party’s booth and ward level functionaries at the TDP central office on Saturday.
Naidu said the party’s ideology should be understood and the good work done by the government in the last two years explained to the people to counter the ‘false propaganda unleashed by the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP)’. It appears that the party did not learn lessons from its debacle in the 2024 elections, he said. He said that the YSRCP was trying to create trouble for the government and such plans should be thwarted. “The misinformation being spread by the YSRCP on the DSC exams is a glaring example of its attempts to derive political mileage.
All parties except the YSRCP acknowledged that the teacher recruitment process was error-free. Teachers themselves staged protests on August 8, criticising the YSRCP’s attitude,” he noted. Naidu called upon the TDP rank and file to highlight the government’s good initiatives, with due focus on major projects that were implemented. The inauguration of the international airport at Bhogapuram was a testament to the government’s commitment to development, he said. He observed that the State’s financial position has improved to some extent as the government had successfully overcome the numerous financial challenges arising from the YSRCP’s failures.
“In this context, it is pertinent that each leader and party activist does their best to keep the trust placed by the people in the TDP intact, lest the YSRCP should stage a comeback to the State’s detriment,” he said.
