LoP and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi (Credits: Congress/X) Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has raised a series of concerns over unemployment, education, access to credit, data and the growing use of artificial intelligence, saying India’s young population is not getting enough opportunities despite its potential. Speaking about the role of India’s youth and data, Gandhi said, “Yuva + data is equal to 21st century." He said the country’s young population and its data could play an important role in shaping India’s future. Gandhi questioned the employment opportunities available to educated young Indians. “You get educated, do hard work but you don’t get jobs," he said.
He claimed that only 12 out of 1,000 young people get jobs, while also questioning whether degrees such as BA and MA provide meaningful employment opportunities. Gandhi said families spend lakhs and crores on education, but young people still struggle to find jobs. He also alleged that there is no employment guarantee from the government. Gandhi Raises Student, Small Business Loan Issues The Congress leader also spoke about access to bank loans, particularly for students and small businesses. “Indian banks will never give loans to the students," Gandhi said. He further claimed that “90% small businesses don’t get loans", arguing that limited access to credit creates difficulties for entrepreneurs and young people. On government employment, Gandhi claimed, “Only 1 out of 150 get job in government sector." ‘Made In China, Made In Bangladesh’ Gandhi also criticised the state of domestic manufacturing and linked it to economic policies adopted by the government. “You will find ‘Made in China’ and ‘Made in Bangladesh’. You want to see Made in India in India," he said.
He attributed the situation to “demonetisation and wrong GST policy" and claimed that “privatisation has increased in India", raising concerns over its impact on employment. Rahul Gandhi Raises AI, Data Concerns Gandhi also spoke about the impact of technology and data on employment. In another remark, he said that the use of artificial intelligence was also affecting employment opportunities for young people, saying, “By using AI, jobs are being denied to the youths." Gandhi also alleged that citizens’ data was being taken by the government and said, “Data aapka, dard aapka aur daulat inki." (Your data, your pain, but their wealth.) ‘BJP’s Bank Balance Is ₹10,000 Crore’ Gandhi also targeted the BJP and RSS, making allegations about political funding and institutions. He claimed, “BJP’s bank balance is 10,000 crore today," and alleged, “Vote chori is going on." He further alleged, “Every institution, bureaucracy, and force is filled by RSS." The remarks come amid Gandhi’s wider criticism of the government’s handling of employment, education, economic policy, data and opportunities for India’s youth.
