In Uttar Pradesh's Hamirpur district, Amar Singh and his accomplices allegedly murdered his wife, Rita, by running her over with a car and staging it as a road accident to claim a 44 lakh rupee insurance policy. In Gujarat's Mehsana district, Ritaben Patel and her daughter Shraddha allegedly hired nephew Vimal Patel to kill medical store owner Vinodbhai Patel by ramming an SUV into his scooter.
In Karnataka's Belagavi district, Suma Manjaragi and her lover Pundalik Dombad allegedly poisoned e serviceman Sandip Manjaragi in a hospital bed to claim insurance policies worth 2 crore rupees. The Belagavi case also involved hospital staff and forensic officials who allegedly manipulated post-mortem reports to classify the death as a natural heart attack before police exhumed the body and arrested nine individuals involved in the conspiracy.
