An alleged exam impersonator was apprehended while taking the Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC) Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT) examination on behalf of another candidate in Bareilly.
Officials identified the accused as Pramod Kumar, who was allegedly appearing in place of Vimal Kumar before discrepancies during the verification process exposed the fraud.
Officials said the impersonation attempt was uncovered during biometric and document verification carried out after the examination began at Islamia Girls Inter College.
City Magistrate RK Verma said members of the verification team, including the static magistrate and college authorities, became suspicious of the candidate during routine checks.
A closer scrutiny of his Aadhaar card, admit card and biometric data confirmed that he was appearing in place of another candidate, following which he was detained and handed over to the police.
