Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay chaired a consultation meeting with members of Parliament at Kalaivanar Arangam in Chennai to discuss the proposed Delimitation Bill and Tamil Nadu's stance on the matter. Major opposition parties, including the DMK, AIADMK, Makkal Needhi Maiyam, and Pattali Makkal Katchi, boycotted the meeting, while TVK allies such as the Congress, VCK, Left parties, MDMK, and AIUML attended.
The DMK's pushback follows demands for an all-party meeting regarding the Cauvery-Mekedatu issue. Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to visit Tamil Nadu and two temples during his visit. Political debates surrounding seat share representation in Parliament continue as parties voice concerns over the southern state's parliamentary rights.
