Kharge stated that the RSS and BJP only lecture on patriotism while calling Congress the 'real patriots' and describing the RSS and BJP as a group of deserters.
He claimed no one from the RSS or BJP went to jail for the country's independence struggle and asserted that the Congress cannot be intimidated. Referring to Kharge's remarks, reporter Anmol Bali noted that this follows previous political clashes between the Congress and BJP, adding that the statement is likely to trigger reactions from the BJP and discussions in Parliament.
