Jharkhand’s student protest has entered its 15th day, with the NSUI demanding cancellation of the 14th JPSC examination and a time-bound SIT/CID probe into alleged irregularities in JPSC and JSSC recruitment exams. The students are also demanding public disclosure of investigation progress, an annual recruitment exam calendar, greater transparency and an in-house examination system to reduce dependence on outsourcing.
A Jharkhand minister has described the demands as justified and indicated that a positive response from Chief Minister Hemant Soren could follow. Meanwhile, students say their planned Vidhan Sabha gherao on August 10 will go ahead unless their demands receive a written assurance.
