Officials inspected 26 three-star and five-star hotels across Bengaluru Urban district, with 30 Food Safety Officer teams deployed across the city's zones. During the raids, authorities reported finding expired food products, fungal growth on vegetables, unhygienic kitchens and storage areas, improper food handling, misbranded products and violations of FSSAI labelling and storage norms.
Food samples including chicken, mutton, fish, milk, edible oil, cheese, spices and other products have been collected and sent for laboratory testing. Officials also seized and destroyed food they deemed expired or unsafe for consumption, including meat, fish, vegetables, milk and bakery products.
