Doctors and medical experts are raising concerns over the growing use of e-cigarettes and vaping among young people, warning against the misconception that vape aerosols are harmless water vapor. Dr Stuti Das explained that vape liquids contain nicotine, flavoring chemicals, formaldehyde, and potentially carcinogenic substances that cause blood vessel constriction, local lung irritation, and reduced oxygen supply.
While cigarettes contain over 7,000 chemicals from burning tobacco, e-cigarettes also release harmful aerosols that damage airways and increase risks of chronic lung conditions like asthma and bronchitis. Experts stress that switching from cigarettes to vaping is not a safer option, emphasizing that replacing tobacco smoke with aerosol does not eliminate health risks or prevent nicotine addiction.
