A tragic bus accident has been reported from Chamba in Himachal Pradesh, where a private bus travelling from Baragar towards Chamba reportedly overturned and plunged onto a lower road, killing seven passengers and injuring 11 others. Rescue operations are underway with police, fire services, home guards and NDRF teams involved.
Some passengers are feared trapped under the wreckage. The exact cause of the accident is yet to be established, with police investigating whether the driver lost control on the treacherous route. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has condoled the deaths and wished a speedy recovery to those injured.
