“A morning I will cherish. Had the privilege of meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji. A detailed and enriching interaction. Deeply grateful for his generous time and for the opportunity to benefit from his insights and guidance," Chadha wrote after the meeting. The meeting comes months after Chadha joined the Bharatiya Janata Party, marking a significant political shift. Since then, he has publicly backed several government positions, including during the controversy over alleged examination paper leaks that had triggered widespread student protests across the country. At the height of the protests, Chadha defended the Centre’s stance, arguing for stricter enforcement and systemic reforms to curb malpractice. His remarks aligned with the government’s push for tougher legislation, which culminated in a bill proposing stricter penalties for those involved in paper leaks and related offences.
The proposed law aims to deter organised cheating rackets by introducing harsher punishments, including jail terms and hefty fines, for individuals and networks found guilty of compromising examination integrity. Chadha’s meeting with the Prime Minister is being seen as part of his growing engagement within the party and the government, as he continues to position himself on key policy issues. In his first public remarks following the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) protests in New Delhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday voiced strong confidence in the country’s youth, saying their energy and capabilities are vital to India’s journey towards becoming a ‘Viksit Bharat’. He was speaking at the annual convocation ceremony of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), New Delhi.
