(Image: AFP) Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC) leader Sardar Aman Kashmiri has sharpened his attack on Pakistan, vowing to continue the struggle in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) “until the last breath" and calling on the Pakistani government and military to accept the committee’s demands and leave Kashmir. In a series of strongly worded remarks, Kashmiri also rejected the existing political system, spoke of forming a new government and framing new laws, and said the movement was no longer limited to pressing for demands.

‘We Will Bring A Revolution’ Kashmiri said the struggle would continue despite hardships and resistance. “We will stand firm until our last breath. We will endure every hardship, but we will bring a revolution," he said. “We will struggle for our rights until the very end," he added. His remarks signal a further hardening of the JAAC leadership’s position as it seeks to sustain pressure on the Pakistani authorities over political and rights-related grievances in PoK. ‘Accept Our Demands And Leave Our Homeland’ Kashmiri also issued a direct message to Pakistan’s government and military, saying negotiations were the only option before them. “Pakistan government and the military have only one option; negotiations — Accept our demands and leave our homeland, Kashmir," he said. The statement marked a significant escalation in rhetoric, going beyond the committee’s earlier emphasis on demands and negotiations with the authorities.

‘We Now Want Our State’ Kashmiri said the movement was no longer interested merely in seeking concessions from the existing establishment and instead spoke of securing a separate state. “We no longer want to make mere demands. We now want our state and we will take our state from them by any means necessary, God willing," he said. He also rejected the present governing framework and said a new political order would be established. “We will defend our land at all costs. We will form a new government. We will make new laws. We will no longer accept this current system," Kashmiri said. The comments signal an increasingly uncompromising posture from JAAC, with Kashmiri’s latest statements moving beyond calls for concessions and towards an outright rejection of the existing political arrangement in PoK.
