The Jharkhand student protest over alleged irregularities in JPSC and JSSC recruitment examinations has entered its 15th day. A second round of talks between the protesting students and the government is scheduled for 10 AM today at the State Guest House in Morabadi, Ranchi. An eight-member delegation of the JPSC-JSSC Candidate Justice Forum will meet the government delegation.
Students are demanding cancellation of the disputed examination results, a CBI probe, transparency in the recruitment process and strict action against those responsible. Despite the first round of talks being described as positive, no breakthrough was reached. Protesters have said their agitation will continue and the proposed Vidhan Sabha gherao on August 10 will go ahead unless their demands are addressed.
