A shocking murder has been reported from Udupi in Karnataka, where Congress leader, contractor and former Panchayat president David D'Souza was allegedly shot dead in broad daylight. CCTV footage reportedly captures two unidentified bike-borne assailants targeting D'Souza before fleeing the scene. D'Souza succumbed to his injuries while being taken to hospital.
Police have launched an investigation and a manhunt is underway to trace and arrest the accused. The incident has also raised fresh concerns over law and order and the reported emergence of gun-related crime in the region.
