The Redditor had to spend a lot of money to travel for biometrics and an interview and was disheartened that all went to waste in 20 seconds. While many Indians are getting rejected because they can't show enough ties to India to allay visa officers' concerns that they might not return to India, the Redditor, in his defense, has a government job in India which he said he has been doing for 14 years.But as he laid out the case details and the questions that he was asked, Redditors pointed out why his visa was denied,The man said he was single and had no history of international travel.
His interview at the Chennai consulate was short and he was asked the usual questions and also about the purpose of the intended visit, his employment, monthly salary and history of international travel."I know no travel history was the reason of rejection. Waiting for appointments, travel for biometrics, interview, book flight tickets, hotel booking, spending lot of money, getting formally dressed up only to get refused.It was more like humiliation than rejection. Never going to apply again," the man wrote.The Redditor also shared that his visa for Canada was also rejected but at least it was an easier process with fewer steps and only visa fee. He said he applied for visas for both the US and Canada on the same day but since the waiting time for a Canada visa is much shorter, the interview was done two months ago and he said he was told that he did not submit some additional documents.Redditors said that his Canada visa denial played the most significant role in his US visa denial as Canada and the US share immigration data because of their Five Eyes alliance.
