Andhra Pradesh Sports Minister Mandipalli Ramprasad Reddy on Friday said that the government was keen on transforming the State into ‘Healthy Andhra Pradesh’ by promoting sports and physical fitness among people, especially the youth.
The Minister inaugurated the Amaravati Pickleball League (AMPL), being held for the first time in Andhra Pradesh. The league is being conducted at Nitro Pickleball & Café, Vijayawada, from August 7 to 9.
Addressing the gathering, the Minister said the tournament would serve as a milestone in promoting pickleball in the State and reiterated the government’s commitment to fostering a sports culture among the youth and promoting emerging sports such as pickleball.
Vijayawada MLA Gadde Ramamohan, Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh (SAAP) Chairman Ravi Naidu and actor Sushanth were among those who attended the inaugural ceremony.
