Waterlogging was reported from Chhatarpur’s Durga Vihar, along with several other low-lying areas, leading to slow-moving traffic and longer commute times for office-goers and schoolchildren. Visuals from Durga Vihar showed roads submerged under stagnant rainwater, with young children seen walking through and in some cases playing in flooded streets. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an red alert till 9 pm for Delhi, warning of moderate to heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning.

IMD Forecast: More Rain, Thunderstorms Likely The IMD has forecast moderate to heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning over Delhi. Weather officials have warned that intense showers could lead to localized flooding, waterlogging and traffic disruptions in vulnerable areas. Temperature Dips After Downpour The showers brought a noticeable drop in temperature, with Delhi recording around 25.6°C on Friday morning.
While the rain offered respite from the recent heat and humidity, it also caused inconvenience to commuters due to flooded roads and slow-moving traffic. Heavy rainfall continued to lash Delhi-NCR on Friday, causing severe waterlogging in several parts of the national capital. In Durga Vihar in Chhatarpur, roads were submerged after hours of continuous rain, disrupting normal life and making it difficult for residents to move around.
