A technical team from Meta met with officials from the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) at its headquarters to discuss Meta's algorithm and technical systems. Sources indicate that Meta acknowledged gaps in its algorithmic mechanisms during discussions. The government had previously asked Meta to identify all concerns and submit a corrective action plan to ensure full compliance with Indian laws.
This meeting marks the fourth round of discussions in two days, following meetings involving the Union Minister, the IT Secretary, and Meta Global Chief Joel Kaplan. A portion of Meta's global technical team will remain in India for further engagements with MeitY officials and technical teams until all issues are resolved.
