The BJP on Friday disrupted proceedings in the Jharkhand Assembly over the irregularities in state recruitment examinations, demanding a court-monitored CBI probe into the matter. The uproar erupted as soon as the House convened on the second day of the Monsoon Session, with BJP legislators entering the well of the Assembly and raising slogans such as "Hemant Soren quit office". Despite repeated appeals by Speaker Rabindra Nath Mahato for the protesting MLAs to return to their seats, the opposition continued its protest during Question Hour, forcing the Speaker to adjourn the House till 12.30 pm.

The ruling Congress, however, opposed the demand, arguing that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) had lost its credibility. Congress Legislature Party leader Pradeep Yadav said the state government was equally concerned about the students' grievances and pointed out that the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) was already probing the allegations.
"You are demanding a CBI probe, but the agency has already lost its credibility and is functioning as a tool of the Centre," Yadav said. Higher and Technical Education Minister Sudivya Kumar said the government was aware of the concerns raised by the opposition and was committed to resolving the issue. He also took a swipe at the BJP, asking its leaders to remember the alleged irregularities in the Jharkhand Public Service Commission's first and second examinations, and claimed that relatives of BJP leaders had secured government jobs during that period.
