Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy took a serious note of ‘poor maintenance’ and frequent road accidents on the Outer Ring Road. Warning the agency for not maintaining safety on ORR, he directed authorities to adopt all measures to stop road mishaps. Crucial road projects in and around Hyderabad, planning of further projects, a new system integrating various aspects of such works and others were discussed at a review meeting with top officials of Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA), Hyderabad Road Development Corporation Limited (HRDCL) in Hyderabad on Thursday (August 6, 2026).
The officials were directed to expedite radial road construction and complete Radial Road 1 — which connects Kongara Kalan to Future City — by December 9. The construction quality of the roads, soil used for the works, Badvel trumpet interchange and the construction work on the elevated corridor III stretch from Banjara Hills to Shilpa Layout, progress of elevated corridor I and II were reviewed.
The Chief Minister wanted all road network development works including land acquisition, loans, and road maintenance to be integrated and brought under a single system; ORR, Regional Ring Road, city flyovers, underpasses, and other roads to be under the new system. Regarding implementation of Transferable Development Rights (TDR), he gave specific instructions on issuing TDR only for the lands acquired by the government and digitize the entire process.
MAUD Special Chief Secretary Jayesh Ranjan; Secretary to Chief Minister Manik Raj; HMDA Commissioner Sarfaraz Ahmed; Ranga Reddy Collector Narayana Reddy, and other senior officials were at the review meeting.
